TBIG Reaffirms Commitment to our regional clients with new business managers

We’re excited to announce the appointment of four new Business Managers across the North Island. The internal promotions of these experienced and committed project directors reinforce TBIG’s commitment to fostering strong regional connections with our clients.

The appointments are part of a wider leadership evolution, as we continue to invest in people-focused leadership and delivery that makes a difference.

Charles Brown – Business Manager Greater Auckland

Charles is known for his commercial acumen, deep expertise and calm leadership and judgement. He was pivotal in establishing and growing TBIG’s national Engineer to Contract capability and now leads the delivery of TBIG’s full service offering across the North.

Charles was awarded the Tū Māia Integrity Award at the 2023 Ministry of Defence Awards of Excellence to Industry, a reflection of his fairness, professionalism, and commitment to doing the right thing.

“Charles is already well known and highly regarded by many of our clients and partners across greater Auckland, New Zealand’s major metropolitan region and one of our most dynamic markets. We deeply value the strength of his relationships and trust he builds,” says Managing Director, Ian Macaskill.

“It’s a privilege to take on this opportunity and continue contributing to our growth and impact across the region. Looking forward to what’s ahead — building on momentum, strengthening partnerships, and driving results that make a real difference,” says Charles.

Paul Crum oversees project delivery and operational excellence in his capacity as Project Director | Operations Manager Greater Auckland.

Bevan Botha – Business Manager Central

Bevan leads TBIG’s business across Bay of Plenty, Taranaki and Waikato, adding strength to TBIG’s Hamilton-based team led by Project Director Jacob Bray. Bevan brings extensive experience across the public and private sectors and is known for his ability to connect people and ideas. His steady leadership and dedication to fostering strong relationships have been instrumental in how we deliver value for our clients.

“Our clients value local insight and hands-on leadership, and I’m proud to lead a team that delivers on both. We’ve built a strong presence and track record in Bay of Plenty, Taranaki and Waikato, and our focus is on delivering value where our clients need us most. We’re connected to the regions, with the support of the national team behind us” says Botha.

“Bevan is known for his practical leadership and genuine focus on people. His deep knowledge of client delivery is key to driving consistent regional performance and delivering exceptional results for our clients,” says Ian.

Stuart Lyons - Business Manager Eastern

Stu brings nearly two decades of experience, blending collaborative leadership with a practical approach and a dedication to achieving exceptional results for our clients. A trusted and consistent project director, Stu has played a pivotal role in growing TBIG’s presence in the region. He leads our teams across Hawke’s Bay and Tairāwhiti, while also focusing on the Central Plateau alongside Bevan.

“Starting with TBIG as a building science graduate, Stuart is one of our most trusted and consistent colleagues. With calm leadership, deep knowledge, and an unwavering dedication to his team and his clients, Stu has established a strong presence in the region, and we’re excited to see where he can take the potential of the East Coast,” says Ian.

“This is a great chance to build on the strong foundations we’ve already established across the region. What drives me is delivering projects that make a real difference, supporting our people to do their best work and finding new opportunities to add value where it matters most,” says Stu.

Jeremy Wilson – Business Manager Greater Wellington

Jeremy is known for his strategic thinking and tenacious leadership, ensuring great outcomes for our clients while strengthening TBIG’s legacy in the capital. He will lead TBIG’s teams based in Wellington and Palmerston North, fostering trusted relationships and driving regional impact across Whanganui-Manawatū, Wairarapa, and Te Whanganui-a-tara.

“Jeremy is deeply woven into the fabric of TBIG. For over a decade he has played a key role in establishing and shaping our team culture. He’s steady, thoughtful and solutions-focused, and brings deep local knowledge to one of our most complex and relationship-driven regions,” says Ian.

“Te Whanganui-a-tara is where it all began for TBIG and where it all began for me, so I am excited and honoured to be entrusted with the leadership of the Greater Wellington team. I look forward to continuing TBIG's legacy of trusted, people-focused leadership, in the capital and beyond,” says Jeremy.

Jeremy takes over from Byron Roff who has led TBIG’s business across the lower North Island for a decade. Andrew McCalman supports project delivery across our Wellington teams as Project Director | Operations Manager Greater Wellington.

Ian Currie continues to lead TBIG’s operations across Te Waipounamu with steady leadership and deep project expertise. Known for his pragmatic approach and ability to navigate complex delivery environments, Ian is dedicated to supporting his team’s success and strengthening TBIG’s presence in the region.

These leadership changes are also strengthened by the executive appointments of major shareholders, Brent Thomson and Byron Roff, who step out of regional management roles and take on a national focus. Thomson takes on the position of Director of Engagement & Partnerships, while Roff assumes the role of Director of Operations. Additionally, Hayden Whelan (Ngāi Tūhoe) steps into the role of National Partnerships Manager, forming the newly created Engagement & Partnerships team.

Alongside our Board of Directors, major shareholders, and Managing Director, the executive directors and National Partnerships Manager will strengthen our client focus, commercial discipline, and national coordination.

This shift follows the recent appointment of Honorary Dame Suzanne Snively as TBIG’s Independent Board Chair. Her addition signals TBIG's commitment to enhancing governance and driving its mission forward as a trusted partner in providing professional project management for property and construction projects in New Zealand.

These strategic appointments reaffirm our commitment to its purpose, mission, and values.
