About us

Our iconic projects have helped shape urban landscapes for over 35 years.

At The Building Intelligence Group, we’re ambitious to lead the creation of great places for living and working, and we aspire to be the best and most trusted project specialists in Aotearoa. TBIG is over 35 years strong in independent project management and strategic advisory. We’ve been around longer and have people in more places than anyone else. We are relied on to deliver projects because we’ve shown we know our stuff, we listen and we add measurable value. We value our people and encourage them to be strong thinkers, great communicators, responsive and good to work alongside.

As the project management company with the largest footprint in Aotearoa, with 11 offices, we can seamlessly provide resource for projects, wherever they are.

We have skin in the game.

Company founder, Director Dave Mann, still works in our business after 35 years. Managing Director Ian Macaskill has been with us 27 years, alongside third Director, Brent Thomson, who has been with our company for over 12 years.

We’re a New Zealand company, 100% owned by people who work in the business and proud of it. Over a quarter of our staff are shareholders, reflecting our legacy of loyalty, stability and consistently getting results.

Management Team

our values

A business culture helps drive us to be great to work with. We developed four values that we strive to guide us in the way we interact, communicate within our teams and with our clients.

AS ONE

We believe in the power of collaboration, working in unison and sharing strengths with our clients, partners and suppliers.

PASSIONATE

We genuinely get a buzz out of what we do. That’s why we’re in the business. It’s how we engage, excite and lead others in a project team.

impressive

At the start of each project, we ask “What difference can we make on this job?”  We aim to set standards of excellence with our professionalism, the quality of our thinking and with our delivery.

CERTAINTY

We deliver on expectations. On budget, on time and to the desired standard. Our reputation is for 100% reliability.

trusted by clients

Quality Systems and certifications

Quality is a big mantra for us, so much so that we were the first project management company in New Zealand to get ISO 9001: 2015 certification. The quality of our processes and systems underlines everything we do as project managers and its how we get results for our clients.

We see quality as central to our whole of business approach where we will continue to invest in our people, processes, systems, and industry leading certifications to deliver as a national business.
