The TBIG Programme Management Team led by Programme Director John Sheridan provides specialist programme management services to a range of government organisations.

This team brings a centralised approach to managing a programme of works. Their most recent example is the set up and delivery of Ministry of Education’s National Coal Boiler Replacement Programme where they successfully achieved the decarbonisation target of 93 boilers completed across the programme - a notable milestone for the Ministry of Education, Panel Contractors, Consulting Team, TBIG, and New Zealand Government in meeting a key decarbonisation target.

The programme management team provide controls and systems to assist clients in the understanding of the overall status of a programme of work, including in-depth data that can then be then used to inform reporting for the entire programme or adapted for use in business cases or relevant development studies. This includes detailed analysis of:

  • Communications

  • Contractual administration

  • Financials

  • Project schedules

  • Project status

This can either be at an individual project level or at an overarching programme level.

TBIG’s work with the Ministry of Education’s National Coal Boiler Replacement Programme shows how these control processes can work and how a programme of works can benefit from having these type of control systems in place with the data they produce.

Benefits of Programme Management

  • Coordination

  • Standardisation

  • Consistency

  • Efficiency

  • Economies of Scale

Programme Management control systems

TBIG have developed an in-house Programme Management Control System. This system provides clients, project managers and consultants a consistent collection of data at any stage of the programme’s life cycle. This is created through a series of user-friendly workbooks (‘The Workbooks’) that are provided at an individual Project Level through to and overarching Programme Level. This consistency allows data to be complied across multiple projects and gives a programme overview ‘Dashboard” at any time. Further benefits attained from the system is the data can be exported to another system such as MS Project or Power BI for further analysis. An example Programme Dashboard can be accessed via the button below.
