Expansion projects - Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch
Connecting people and technology is at the heart of Datacom’s vision, and the expansion of key data centres at sites across the country absolutely puts customers’ needs at the centre of their business. A specialist project team was put together to deliver the expansion projects, with The Building Intelligence Group as the external Project Manager and Engineer to Contract, working with Beca and Fletcher Construction.
Three highly technical projects were delivered concurrently in three cities: Auckland’s Orbit-2, Hamilton’s Kapua-DF12 and Christchurch’s Gloucester Data Centre. Datacom’s reputation is built on its ability to provide continuous service to its customers, so it was vital that the projects were carried out seamlessly and with no interruption to services. The range of expansion work included internal fitouts, the construction of new data floors, and additional power modules to offer unmatched data storage capabilities.
Having the same team across all three projects ensured the same consistently high standard of delivery while business operations in existing floors could continue unencumbered.
