Honorary Dame Suzanne Snively is the Independent Chair of TBIG’s board. She is a renowned economic strategist known for her solutions-focused, outcome-driven approach. Suzanne excels at engaging clients and guiding teams to apply evidence-based strategies that drive business sustainability and success. With deep commercial expertise in business performance, economic productivity, risk-opportunity management, and financial markets, Suzanne brings a wealth of knowledge to every challenge.
Suzanne’s distinguished career includes roles as Chief Economist at the Department of Social Welfare (1986-1988), Housing Corporation of New Zealand (1988-1990), and the Department of Health (1990-1992). She was the first Chief Economist in New Zealand’s share broking industry with Jarden and Co., and in 2022 was made a Fellow of the New Zealand Association of Economists.
Suzanne’s extensive governance experience spans the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, R A Hannah and Co., Wellington City Council's Capital Holdings and Wellington Airport Board, Whitireia and Weltec Polytechnics, and the Whanau Ora Commissioning Agency. She currently serves on the boards of Experience Wellington and New Zealand Opera, and continues to chair and advise numerous audit and risk committees, including at the Ministry of Transport.
