PROJECT
Te Kaha - Deloitte Centre
CLIENT
Deloitte New Zealand
Our team gets results:
Deloitte
Deloitte’s nearly 800 strong team were the first tenants to step into the outstanding Deloitte Centre in the Commercial Bay Precinct. Boasting some of the best views in Tāmaki Makaura, the client entered into an Agreement to Lease 7,500m2 over six floors of new office space at 1 Queen St, Auckland, with the premium office building targeting a 5 Green Star rating.
Although the Agreement to Lease with Precinct Properties limited integration, TBIG collaborated with both parties to achieve partial integrated works using LT McGuiness and ECI Contractors. Deloitte adopted an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) model for the fitout design. The relocation of staff posed a challenge, which we carefully managed to avoid staff downtime.
The fitout includes modern work settings, seminar rooms, a café, client floors, a reception with feature ceiling and flooring, a commercial kitchen, signage, electrical works, AV/ICT requirements, and Pasifika artwork adoring client and reception spaces. An internal staircase provides connectivity between the six floors.
Gifted the name Te Kaha by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, Deloitte Centre symbolises strength in unity, reinforcing their purpose: working together with clients to create meaningful impact.
“TBIG’s Jian, Manilyn and Raji are a high functioning team and they provided end to end support and management of the project. This resulted in a successful delivery of the project and our staff are absolutely thrilled with their new home,” says Kathy Ngatai, Deloitte New Zealand Commercial Director.
As Project Manager our role included design management, management of safety-in-design processes, FF&E, relocation contractor and main contractor procurement management, building consent management, construction and delivery management, risk register, Engineer to Contract, separate contractor engagement and management contract management, and administration of ATL, representing Deloitte as the Tenant.
Our Deloitte Auckland project was complex involving many moving parts and high-risk elements. It required tight coordination and management. The Building Intelligence Group was adaptable to the various challenges and through robust and regular communication they kept me updated on the status on site and how we were tracking to the construction programme.
