2 DEVONPORT ROAD

2 Devonport Road stands as a landmark of Tauranga's waterfront, embodying the city's revitalisation efforts. The seven-storey building will merge office, retail, and hospitality spaces into a vibrant hub within Tauranga's CBD. Privately funded, the development will redefine the city's skyline and ignite a wave of transformation, playing a pivotal role in the Tauranga CBD Blueprint, which is expected to drive around $1.5 billion in private sector investment over the next decade. 

The building will be impossible to beat as a prime CBD office location. With harbour views, basement carpark facilities and immediate access to recreational space, public transport and the vibrant cafés down The Strand and Wharf Street.  

Demolition of the aging former Westpac Building at 2 Devonport Rd was completed in June 2022, making way for a new, iconic mixed-use commercial building. The new seven-storey building will consist of office, retail, and hospitality space. 

The Building Intelligence Group’s Tauranga team served as the independent project managers for the developer, overseeing all aspects of the design, consent, contractor procurement, construction, and contract administration for the base build. TBIG also acted as the landlord's representative, administering the Development Agreement, and coordinating with the tenant to finalise the integrated fitout. Additionally, TBIG provided Engineer to Contract services for the construction contracts. 

We are delighted to play our part in a collaborative team of professionals that include TBIG, Crowther and Company Quantity Surveyors, Wingate Architects, Beca and CBC Construction.   

The project is due to be completed in December 2026.
